Medical Tourism India

Medical Tourism in India is a rapidly developing concept whereby people from all over the world travel here for affordable (high quality) medical care and to enjoy a holiday at the same time. It’s also known as healthcare travel, health tourism and medical travel.

India is by far one of the most popular medical tourism desinations at the moment.  It has the same standards of infrastructure and technology as the USA, UK and Europe; in fact, it has some of the best hospitals and facilities in the world. The privatization of India’s healthcare travel sector has brought with it five-star facilities and world-class treatments, turning it into what’s now widely recognized as a “global health destination”.

The main attraction for India’s medical tourists is the low cost of treatment. It’s estimated that the costs of treatment in India are as little as a tenth of the price you would pay in America or Britain.  For example, preventive health screening at a private clinic in London (including blood tests, electro-cardiogram tests, chest x-rays, lung tests and abdominal
ultrasound) costs $574 in the States whereas in Delhi a similar check-up will cost around $84.

India is also lucky enough to be one of the most sought after tourist destinations in the world. Both these factors (medical care and tourism) have combined to produce a thriving industry that’s advancing rapidly Both the government and private hospital groups are very keen to establish the subcontinent a world leader in the industry.

In India, life is viewed as a combination of body, mind and spirit (or soul). All are connected and none can be separated or neglected. The purpose of “Ayurveda” (an ancient Indian Treatise) is the art of healing and prolonging life.
